Hazbin Hotel's Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Good News
The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.
Season 1 introduces a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.
The fandom's stated hopes for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes recur frequently: Will Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement constraining Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?
"Obviously, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"
The creator says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.
That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly season 2 progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds now.
"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some incredible reveals, some fascinating origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."
She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.
"I've come across a few fans make a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."
Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
